What can you do to prepare yourself for that first sync licensing agreement? Listen in while Ted Hudson, founding member of The Damnwells and ColorWheel Music, shares the business side of the music licensing agency. The episode is Part 2 of our conversation with Ted.

Once you’ve identified those basic points of a license, you’ll learn how to push back. You’ll learn where it’s appropriate for you to ask for things, and it’ll become less scary and you will be more effective and you’ll be more in control of your career as a result.

Ted Hudson

Ted has spent the past eight years negotiating music, footage, and photo licenses for use in dozens of Oscar-winning documentaries and original programming at HBO. Previous to his work at HBO, Ted founded and played bass in The Damnwells, who toured with acts including The Dixie Chicks, Cheap Trick, and The Fray. Ted also worked on two tech startups in NYC, Hunch and Milewise, which were acquired by EBay and Yahoo! (respectively).
